Registry of Injunctions and Cease and Desist Affidavits

In furtherance of the goal of protecting the public, the following is a list of State Bar, District Committee and Standing Committee actions that have resulted in cease and desist affidavits or complaints for injunctive relief seeking to enjoin individuals from the unlicensed practice of law. At the direction of the Standing Committee, the list of those who have signed cease and desist affidavits is reviewed annually. Those who have signed such an affidavit within two years of that review remain posted.

DAVIS, JAMES, individually, and d/b/a LEGAL FOR LESS, Superior Court of Fulton County, 2019CV324595. Petition for Citation for Contempt filed by State Bar of Georgia on July 24, 2019. Order on Petition for Contempt entered on December 30, 2020, by Judge Constance C. Russell wherein Defendant James Davis was found “to be in willful criminal contempt and civil contempt for engaging in a pattern of conduct by persisting in the unauthorized practice of law, in direct violation of this Court’s 2015 order.”

DAVIS, JAMES, individually, and d/b/a LEGAL FOR LESS, Superior Court of Fulton County, 2019CV324595.  Final Order on Contempt entered on January 17, 2023, by Judge Belinda Edwards wherein Respondent James E. Davis was sentenced to 20 days imprisonment (suspended) and fined $1,000.00 based on previous finding of contempt.
